About Us

Bargloff and Company is a design-build contractor engaged in the design and construction of commercial and on-farm grain storage, drying and handling systems as well as pre-engineered metal buildings.

Through our ongoing commitment to improve, upgrade and expand our design and construction capacities, we have been able to accommodate increasingly larger and more sophisticated projects. Bargloff and Company’s constant goal is to deliver the highest quality products and construction services on every project we undertake.

In the seventy years we have served the Northwest Iowa area, we have forged many relationships — with customers, suppliers and employees. And although the customer always comes first, we could not produce the quality work that defines Bargloff and Company without the extraordinary talents of the individuals from within the company as well as our subcontractor teams. Our continued associations with Butler Manufacturing Company and Brock Manufacturing Company have led to a consistency in production unmatched in Northwest Iowa by any other builder. We are proud of our employee and supplier loyalties and it is our belief that they are vital in maintaining healthy long-term business relationships.

Our History

Bargloff and Company’s roots go as far back as the 1940s operating as a small feed and farm equipment store. In 1960, Arlan and Jeleen Bargloff purchased the feed and farm equipment business and changed the name to ”Bargloff’s”. In 1963, the Company began its association with Butler Manufacturing Company as a Butler Agri-Builder. For the next 17 years, Bargloff’s focused on the agricultural grain storage, drying, & handling equipment market which served to fuel the company’s rapid growth—often leading the state of Iowa in sales volume of Butler Agri-Products.

In 1978 Bargloff’s expanded it’s association with Butler Manufacturing Co. by becoming a CCI Buildings Dealer which diversified Company operations into the Design and Construction of Pre-engineered Metal Building for the Commercial, Community, and Industrial markets.

With the retirement of the company founders, Arlan and Jeleen Bargloff in 1990, the Business was sold to a long time employee, Gene Lyster, who had been a Bargloff’s employee for 23 years. Together with his wife, Gloria, Gene incorporated the business and changed the name to Bargloff and Company. All existing employees were retained and a smooth and seamless transition occurred for both employees and Business customer’s.

Under new ownership, the company benefited from the strong economy of the 1990s, experiencing rapid growth in all areas. Gene further diversified the company by becoming a Butler Mfg. Co. Roof Dealer in 1991.

In 1997, with the purchase of the Butler Mfg. Co. agri-products division by Brock Mfg. Co., Bargloff and Company became a Dealer for Brock Mfg. Co., a relationship that continues to this day. As a Brock Dealer, Bargloff and Company is fully engaged in the sale of the complete line of Brock grain storage tanks, grain dryers, and misc. grain handling equipment for both On-farm and Commercial operations. Since beginning the association with Brock Mfg. Co., Bargloff and Company has received numerous sales volume awards including the Top Volume Dealer in the state of Iowa, Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze annual sales awards. In addition, Gene Lyster has served 4 years as a member of the Brock Dealer Advisory Council and as the Council President from 2002 to
2003.

In 1998, the Company was awarded the distinguished Career Builder designation by Butler Mfg. Co. in recognition of it’s outstanding efforts in the areas of Marketing Competence, Construction Capability, Professional Design Services, Sound Business Management, Adequate Financial Resources, High Local Reputation, & Career Dedication in the area of pre-engineered metal building sales. In 2014, the Company received a coveted award as a 50-year Butler dealer.

Today, Bargloff and Company employs 25 highly trained and motivated full time employees, and numerous subcontractors. Our design teams utilize state-of-the-art design equipment and techniques, while our Construction Division is supported by a full range of up to date construction equipment. The Company operates from a highly efficient corporate headquarters, maintains an outstanding safety record, and is committed to an ongoing effort to improve efficiencies in all areas of operations. In short, after 70 years, Bargloff and Company remains well-positioned to effectively serve our Customer’s construction needs today, and deep into the future.
